Wallingford, CT-based Proton Energy Systems, Inc. has appointed Mark Murray a its new president. He replaces Walter “Chip” Schroeder, former president and now head of Proton’s parent company, Distributed Energy Systems Corp., who was acting head of Proton during the search for the company’s new chief. Murray worked recently as vice president of precision components and assemblies at Stanadyne, a global manufacturer of diesel systems, Windsor, CT........The Ohio Fuel Cell Coalition has elected Rodger McKain, president of SOFCO-EFS Holdings, Alliance, as its new chairman, replacing Trevor Jones. Other new officers elected are Bill Dawson, NexTech Materials and Bob Savinelli, Case School of Engineering, as vice chairmen; Dorothy Baunach, NorTech, treasurer; Katrina Fritz Intwala, Wright Fuel Cell Group, secretary; and Ken Alfred, executive director......The Spanish National Fuel Cell Association APPICE elected Javier Brey, of Hynergreen, as its new vice president at its 2nd general meeting in mid-October during the association’s 1st National Fuel Cell Congress at the Miramon Technology Center, San Sebastian. Most of the seven previous board members were re-elected. Dr. Loreto Daza, of the Instituto de Catalisis y Petroleoquimica, CSIC, remains as president.
