Briefly Noted: NY State/Honda

New York is the first state customer in the Northeast for a fuel cell vehicle by leasing two 2005 Honda FCX fuel cell vehicles. The lease is for two years, with the first vehicle to be delivered this month and the second in mid-2005. “New York is pleased to partner with Honda,” said Gov. George E. Pataki at a mid-November ceremony at the state capitol Albany. Added Koichi Kondo, president and CEO of American Honda Motor Co., “this is a great day for Honda and the State of New York.” New York state is the fifth U.S. customer for the FCX and the first state customer. With these two additions, Honda will have 12 fuel cell vehicles in regular daily use in California and New York. Contact: American Honda, www.hondanews.com.
