FuelCell Energy, Inc. and its Japanese partner, Marubeni Corp., are about to sign an agreement with Kawasaki Heavy Industries under which Kawasaki would become a packager of FuelCell Energy’s trademarked DirectFuelCell molten carbonate power plants in Japan. The Danbury, CT-based company said in a late-August release that discussions are in the final stage. As part of the agreement, Kawasaki will buy a 300A power plant from Marubeni, to be installed in the Kawasaki Akashi Works near Osaka for long-term evaluation and testing.
