Briefly Noted: Hybrid Technologies

Hybrid Hydrogen Technologies, Inc.(HHT), Pickering, ON says it has sold two of its on-board electrolytic emission control and fuel saving devices, dubbed Hydrogen Fuel Injection (HFI) technology, for installation on two school buses operated by School District No. 5 in British Columbia, to be paid for by the BC government. HHT president Ira Lyons sees this as a big endorsement of the technology, developed originally by its sister company Canadian Hydrogen Energy Company (CHEC), Bowmanville, ON (H&FCL Dec. 05). “The satisfactory results on the first two school buses in B.C. are expected to lead to the adoption of HFI on every school bus in B.C. and will, almost certainly, have equal success in other provinces and states,” Lyons added. HFI is installed as an add-on component to diesel and gasoline engines, significantly reducing a variety of emissions (CO, PM, HC, CO2 and Nox). HHT says it also guarantees at least a 10% fuel reduction.
