Briefly Noted: Masterflex Cargo Bikes
The European Union’s Regional Development Fund together with the German state of Northrhine-Westfalia are helping to finance the development of fuel cell-powered so-called cargo bikes. The bikes, intended to carry small loads, are being planned by German fuel cell developer Masterflex AG, of Gelsenkirchen, and Hawk Bikes, a Berlin-based maker of specialized bicycles. Masterflex says on its German-language website it plans to present a market-ready cargo bike later this year. Source: Masterflex site, www.masterflex-bz.de.
