Fast Forward: MTU Friedrichshafen

MTU Friedrichshafen, the German DaimlerChrysler subsidiary principally known for big diesel engines, apparently wants to get out of the electrolyzer business. At least that’s the gist of a Jan. 25 report by the German Internet service “HyWeb” which says GHW, the German maker of advanced pressurized electrolyzers, is looking for somebody to take over MTU’s 50% share of the business. MTU Friedrichshafen is partnering with Norsk Hydro Electrolysers (NHEL) in GHW which is developing a next generation of pressurized electrolyzers (H&FCL July, Aug. 04).
