use of specific components, the ESE Lightning Rod LTDE series,
offers an improved performance of its ionization impulse capacity.
Its efficiency and reliability are proven by the results of the
certification tests made in high voltage laboratories in France and
abroad according to NF C17-102 standard.

The protection radii, classified by protection level 1 to 3 in the
opposite table, are calculated using the formula defined in the NF
C 17-102 standard Chapter 220.127.116.11 and its appendix B lightning risk

The protection of a building or a site may need one or several ESE
Lightning Rod LTDE series depending on the required protection
level and the area to be protected.
The installation of a lightning protection system must follow the
rules defined in the NF C 17-102 standard as well as those defined
in the risk assessment study when requrested.
Therefore, a typical installation has one or several ESE Lightning
Rod LTDE series put at minimum 2 meters higher than the highest
level of the building, the area or the structure to b protected.
Each ESE Lightning Rod LTDE series is directly connected to the
ground by one or more down conductors.
Internal or external metal masses located close to a down conductor
must equipotentially be linked to it.
The earthing (grounding) system must be in accordance with the
lightning current flow. A crow’s foot shape is recommended which
must be equipotential with the earthing (grounding) system of the
