Ballard to Deliver 2,900 Mark 9 Fuel Cells to General Hydrogen for Fork Lift Trucks
VANCOUVER – In a landmark deal, Ballard Power Systems here has signed a contract with neighbor General Hydrogen Corp. to deliver 2,900 Mark 9 SSL ™ fuel cells worth about U.S. $22 million for fork lifts and similar materials handling equipment.

CHICAGO, IL – Energy Secretary Samuel W. Bodman late last month announced $100 million in new grants to fund 25 hydrogen research and development projects.

Major European Companies Sign On to $6.25 Billion 10–Year H2 Initiative
BRUSSELS - Some of Europe’s biggest industrial names in hydrogen and fuel cell development last month signed a declaration urging the creation of a multi-year Joint Technology Initiative (JTI) on hydrogen and fuel cells with a total funding target of Euro 5 billion ($6.25 billion) for the next decade.

Plug Power is firing on all cylinders: In mid-October, the Latham, NY-based fuel cell developer announced it had signed a strategic partner agreement with Russia’s national innovation company, New Energy Projects (NIC NEP), to collaborate on technology and market developments in Russia.

France’s power and rail equipment maker Alstom is teaming with the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and Wisconsin-based We Energies utility to demonstrate a novel carbon dioxide capture process.
