The Future: BMW Considers LH2 Hybrids, Works on Lighter Tanks, Better Engines

BERLIN - Is there a hydrogen i.c. hybrid in BMW’s future? Hard to say at this stage. But there are some signs. BMW’s key executive for development and purchasing, management board member Klaus Draeger, referred to it as a distant possibility in his welcoming remarks during the premiere here of BMW’s new Hydrogen 7. And the topic came up again during the half-day series of five detailed briefings on the vehicle itself, its customers, infrastructure and future developments.
